For BlackBerry’s 2012 developer challenge I made VoláBolá, a game where a flying ball has to touch every yellow block without touching the red ones, and published it in BlackBerry’s app store for the PlayBook.
Could a physics game run smoothly in a tablet’s browser in 2012, with no native code?
What I built
The game is plain JavaScript on an HTML5 canvas, with Box2D physics, three levels and a random one, sound, an optional accelerometer control, and English and Spanish.
The result
BlackBerry’s store is gone, but the game still runs in a browser, unchanged since 2012.
